This security application will lock your desktop from unwanted users. The whole screen goes black or Captures Desktop or Displays Bitmap. Unable to close (without password). User defined setup for Password and Display Type. No installation required.

Setup/Exit

Setup:

Execute Black Screen.
Because its the 1st time your running, the Setup Screen will display. To display the setup screen any other time press CTRL-S.
Choose the Display Option (Black, Capture, Bitmap). Note: Capture will not work on the 1st time run
Enter in Password. This will be the password to close/exit this program and the password to enter setup again. If you forgot your password, email us (We have a work around)
Click <OK> to save changes.
Now Black Screen is actively running.
Type in password to close Black Screen. (See below for detailed instructions)

Close/Exit:

While Black Screen is active, you must press the letters of your password to exit Black Screen. There is no password dialog (this is only for setup). There is no prompt. You just type in the letters of your password individually, and black screen will exit. This type of password security makes for a stealth way of exiting out of this program, there are no messy dialogs to deal with.

Fixes and enhancements with v1.16:
- Added a maximum number of attempts for entering Setup Screen password
- Corrected a security problem that Windows98 revealed
- Added a blue mouse over effect to the Setup Screen tab sheet
- Padded all passwords to 10 character so user cannot tell how many characters password really is.
- Corrected a defect that you were able to setup Black Screen with a space as the password (no password)
- Identified that Black Screen is easily shutdown under Windows NT 4.0 and greater (we are working on this)

How Do I:

Create a Windows shortcut?
- Right-click on the program you want to create a shortcut for
- Select 'Create Shortcut' from the popup menu
- This will create a shortcut to the program at the same directory level. (See below for editing a shortcut)
Edit a shortcut?
- Select/Highlight a Windows shortcut
- Right-click on the shortcut
- Select 'Properties' from the popup menu
- Click on the 'Shortcut' tab
- Modify the 'Target' field with the drive letter and path to this program name. (Ex. C:\JOKES\{program name}.EXE )
Edit/Add command line options?
- Same as above except...
- Modify the end of the 'Target' field and add your command line options
